Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival

Estelle Withy – Raranga o Manu Moana

Estelle Withy is a Kairaranga (practitioner of Māori weaving techniques). For Estelle, Raranga is a deep and meaningful connection with the land of Aotearoa and a humbling journey into understanding Te Ao Māori. Estelle is grateful to have received these teachings “and to be a part of elevating and bringing this mahi toi to as wide an audience as these ancient techniques deserve”.  She acknowledges her Kaiako and friend Bibbins Tangitu for her teachings and aroha.
