Bloom in the Bay

Collage (decoupage) Artist – Marion Murphy

Marion is a self-taught collage artist combining her love of design, glass and colour. Collage (decoupage) is an ancient art form originating during the 12th century in China and Japan, then in France and Venice as home decor was fashionably embellished with the addition of motifs and varnish. Of special interest is the challenge of creating three dimensional art on glass using the double sided (reverse glass) collage technique. This complex method enables art to be viewed from both inside and the outside of each glass vessel. Marion will share her love of this unique art form explaining the process and showcasing how finished pieces are now transformed into an ‘Objet d’ Art’.
