She worked 15 years for the Department of Conservation in Tauranga. 50 years ago, she joined Forest & Bird and is now Chair of the Te Puke branch. She is also a patron of Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust and Minutes Secretary for Te Whakakaha Trust which cares for endangered frogs in the Otawa Sanctuary.
