Blacksmithing Demo – Kowhai Forge

This demonstration will provide a look into the traditional techniques of forging. A small hatchet will be created forging iron and high carbon steel together in a coal fire. Come and meet the Kowhai Forge, School of Blacksmithing team!  Team members will be happy to answer questions and share some secrets of this unique craft.

Kowhai Forge – Rob Pinkey

Rob is one of the few time-served blacksmiths in New Zealand. He loves sharing his passion for blacksmithing and has a deep understanding of forging. Rob has a strong cultural background and teaches with lots of enthusiasm and kiwi humour.
