This November, Ōmokoroa Domain will become an open-air studio as Symposium at the Point brings together 10 to 12 artists creating new work live on-site. Running 12–22 November, 10am–4pm daily, the free event will give visitors the chance to watch sculptures take shape from materials including stone, wood, bamboo and metal, while meeting the artists and hearing the stories and inspiration behind their work. Presented by Public Art Ōmokoroa, the symposium will also include an education programme for local students, smaller artworks for sale in the Domain pavilion, and the opportunity for visitors to help select new public art for permanent placement on the Ōmokoroa Peninsula. An official partner of the 2026 Bay of Plenty Garden & Art Festival, Symposium at the Point offers a fascinating chance to experience art in the making.
