Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival

Garden & Art Trail

Rome Inspired

The Italian Renaissance garden of Villa Lante in Rome was the inspiration for this garden. Geometric design, a water feature centred down steps to an oblong pond, gravel paths and box heading are all part of the charm. The Tuscan potager is a producing garden, beyond which a tomp l’oeil is framed by grapes draping an arched portico. The borrowed landscape provides a perfect backdrop for Piccola (little) Lante.
