Artists

Lee Kleiman

Lee is a contemporary abstract landscape painter inspired by an aesthetic of imperfection. Her paintings are a celebration of well-worn, weathered surfaces slightly faded by time and made more beautiful for the lines and marks that tell their stories. Letting go of outcomes and guided by intuition she spontaneously scratches, scrapes and layers paint, colour and texture, adding, eliminating and excavating between the layers until finally the essence of the painting emerges. Lee is drawn to both innLee is an abstract landscape artist, inspired by the vastness of horizons and the sublimity of nature. Her paintings are a celebration of light and space, with colours built up in layers to create ethereal skies juxtaposed against weathered shorelines faded and weathered by time. Drawn to inner and outer landscapes and the emotional connection between them, Lee’s paintings have a presence of calm, offering viewers freedom to search for their own meaning within each piece.
