Donna Lipinski’s work is a celebration of New Zealand’s coastal beauty, expressed through two distinct and highly original styles. Her signature Kiwiana Shell artworks are created from tiny, hand-placed shells on canvas, forming uniquely Aotearoa-inspired designs, koru, manta rays, fishhooks and waves, each shimmering with natural texture and detail. No two pieces are ever the same.
Alongside her shell work, Donna also creates large acrylic pour paintings. These bold, expressive works explore abstract and botanical forms, as well as dynamic coastal scenes with crashing waves and foreshore energy. Rich in movement and colour, they capture the essence of ocean life in striking indoor art pieces.
Donna’s studio is set within her garage, which opens out into a private garden courtyard. Here, her work is displayed in natural light, allowing the colours to glow and the paua shell details to truly shine. It’s a tranquil, garden-fringed space designed for relaxed browsing and meaningful conversation.
