David and Nina Henderson’s Mount Maunganui garde

David and Nina Henderson’s Mount Maunganui garden is an oasis hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of suburban life. Here the focus is on sustainability, shelter for native birds and insects and producing food for the whole family. The garden offers a variety of tropical plants, native and fruit trees, vegetable gardens and a huge Pohutukawa tree to sit under on long hot summer days. All of this is complemented with a large bright mural on the garden wall. David will be showcasing his artworks in the garden.

Set in a lovely lush, semi- tropical garden is BeJo Studio, the home of Jo-anne Halls Hats. Jo-anne is a milliner who uses sinamay & fabrics for her creations. She enjoys the artform of hats and using new ways to use her textiles, & turning the hat into wearable art. She has been specialising in special occasion hats for over 40 years in the Tauranga area and has supplied many major fashion stores throughout New Zealand.
BeJo Studio in Te Puna has a range of unique gifts made onsite. A little gem to discover with beautiful things to bring joy - a collection with heart. ❤

A visit to Grey Warbler Gallery & Garden in rural Te Puke is a must ❤ A lush garden merges the two studio/gallery spaces of Angela McKenzie and Clive Armstrong, providing the perfect backdrop for their unique sculptures & artworks.
Angela is an abstract artist who explores rhythm and connection to the natural world. Her resin works are complex, using repeated patterns and organic shapes, while her dramatic 3D wall pieces are sculpted from paper and wire, bringing life to abstract forms. Angela is currently developing new works using contemporary batik – this wax resist method on paper creates layers of delicious colour and form.

"Plant struck" in Te Puna is new to the festival and is sure to delight! If you are looking for a garden filled with potted colour, Clivias, Bromeliads and dwarf ornamental trees then look no further. Plant Struck is for small plant enthusiasts. Beautiful and unusual plants adorn this garden with all container plants identifiable by their botanical names. It is situated on a mainly flat residential section which gradually slopes down to the edge of Tauranga Harbour ❤

New to this year's festival is artist Gary Longley, you will be wowed by his amazing artworks!
"My style is to realistically depict the marine life of New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific, in dynamic poses as opposed to what I call 'frying pan' shots, where the subject is just 'side on'.
I work in graphite pencil from 'B' to '9B' which is dark and dramatic and works well in any space."
