Tanya Paton is an intuitive abstract painter based in the Coromandel, New Zealand. Her work explores natural forms, light, colour, and intuition. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, she balances spontaneity with thoughtful refinement. While her paintings often draw inspiration from floral and botanical themes, they are always interpreted through an abstract lens. Each piece evolves organically through many layers, embracing experimentation and the unexpected marks and textures that emerge throughout the creative process. Tanya exhibits at major art shows across New Zealand several times each year and sells her work directly to collectors. Building these personal connections is an important part of her practice and provides a welcome balance to the many hours spent creating in her studio.
