Bloom in the Bay

Ruud Klienpaste at Metlifecare Greenwood Park

Join the Bug Man, for a fascinating walking presentation through Greenwood Park Retirement Village’s remarkable Quail Trail, where nature provides the perfect classroom. Once an overgrown area, this much-loved trail has been transformed by Greenwood Park residents into a thriving natural environment, winding through native fernery, wetland and peaceful woodland, alive with birds, insects and other creatures. Along the way, Ruud will explore how creating the right habitats can encourage biodiversity to flourish, uncover some of the smaller inhabitants that often go unnoticed, and share simple ideas we can all use to make our own gardens more welcoming to wildlife. Greenwood Park’s Quail Trail is a wonderful example of what can happen when people give nature a helping hand — something, as Ruud will explain, our planet needs more than ever.
