Lois Parish Evans is an award-winning mixed media textile artist whose work explores the extraordinary in the everyday. Influenced by her wanderings through bush, beach, and urban environments, Lois translates these experiences into richly layered textile compositions. Her style, representational abstraction—uses line, colour, shape, and texture to convey an emotional and personal lens on the natural world.
Lois holds a BA in Visual Art and has developed a diverse practice incorporating raw-edge appliqué, stencilling, stamping, printmaking, thread painting, and digital surface design. Her innovative combinations of fabric, paint, stitch, and print result in striking, contemporary textile artworks.
Her pieces have been juried into exhibitions across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, France, Japan, and the USA, and her work is held in both private and public collections.
