Lynda Soutar creates small-scale indoor sculptures that celebrate the textures and rhythms of the natural world. Working with reclaimed materials wherever possible, copper, wood, epoxy resin, and putty—she brings to life intricate representations of plants, birds, insects, and fish. Each piece is shaped, soldered, filed, and coloured by hand, showcasing a process that is both meticulous and intuitive.
Her work reflects a deep respect for the materials she uses and the organic forms that inspire them. There’s a quiet energy in her sculptures, honouring transformation, reuse, and the quiet beauty found in nature’s overlooked details.
For this year’s Open Studios, Lynda will be exhibiting from Janet Fox’s home studio space, “The Den,” a warm and welcoming environment that complements her delicate sculptural work.
