Andrea Green is a mixed media artist whose practice centres around portraiture, while also embracing a wide creative range. From intimate pastel studies and native birds in oil and gold leaf to pointillist landscapes and glass-and-resin installations, her work combines technical versatility with emotional depth. Portraits remain her focus, often drawn live, capturing more than likeness, aiming for connection and insight.
Mostly self-taught, Andrea was awarded First Prize at the NZ Mural Awards in 2022 and continues to grow her practice through commissions, live portrait events, and national submissions. She is a member of the Tauranga Society of Artists and runs The Portrait Studio from the Historic Village’s creative heart.
Located at number 4 Main Street, The Portrait Studio is a light-filled space shared with Imprint Gallery, just steps from The Incubator. Visitors can expect a welcoming environment with original works, giclée prints, and art-printed T-shirts on display. Andrea will be working live during Open Studios, when she’s not too busy greeting guests!
